Mikey's Baptism Photoshoot

Here are a few pictures of my darling oldest son, Mikey. These pictures were taken a few weeks before he turned eight. It's hard for me not to be extremely proud of these pictures and who is in them....

I had been trying to talk to Mikey for months on the topic of baptism and religious beliefs and commitments in general.

 He has had many questions about Jesus, and many more questions around religious topics (which frankly surprised me). 

Two Sundays before his baptism Mikey and I had a very long talk (which was also a shocker) on the commitment of baptism and what it represents, etc. 

 I told him he did not have to get baptized if he did not want to. It is an extremely big commitment (hard to comprehend at such a young age). 

However I wanted him to know the commitment of baptism was his choice. 

His reply, “Oh mommy, I have wanted to baptized since I was 5”. 

My heart melted.
